It was a slow start for Borough but they did have the best chance of the first half of the first half as Anthony Hall and Matthew Dell linked up well with Hall going close with a left footed shot which was well saved by the Chadderton keeper Hadlow.

The visitors then took the lead on the half hour mark, Ryan Shenton slotted past Monahan in the Borough goal.

Borough could have had an equaliser if it wasn’t for former Borough man Nathan Tayo, Michael Gervin produced a delicate right footed chip over Hadlow with the ball heading into the back of the net, Tayo hooked it clear.

With very few chances at the beginning of the second half it was on the hour mark when we saw the next goal, the visitors doubling their lead through James Dwyer’s right footed shot.

With 15 minutes left on the watch, Borough halved the deficit through Substitute Louis Holding who tapped in from 6 yards out.

Bacup went in search of an all important equaliser but Chadderton were equal to everything that Brent Peters’ side through at them.
