First Double Chance At Blackpool

Bacup Borough have the chance to complete their first ‘double’ of the season when they travel to face AFC Blackpool at the Mechanics Ground tomorrow afternoon (Saturday 3pm). On 22nd August Adam Dale’s goal saw Borough deliver the first league victory of the season against the seasiders but it will be a much changed line-up that takes the field for this game. Blackpool currently sit in 13th place in the league table with 29 points, 10 more than Bacup, although they have played three games more. They have won 8 and drawn 5 of their 22 games. Most recently they had a good 0-2 away win at local rivals Squires Gate on Boxing Day. With nine clean sheets in all competitions this season they have one of the meanest defences in the league.

For Borough once again Luke Morgan will wait to see if manager Brent Peters includes him in the squad, whilst Haydn Paul continues his wait to complete the final match of his three match ban. Kingsley Williams has recovered from his recent car accident, whilst Steve Maden and Ryan Jones are both expected to be fit enough to travel. With the next three matches against Bootle, Maine Road and Barnoldswick it is vital that Bacup try and take something from this important fixture.

As ever if you are unable to travel to the coast, then follow @bacupborough or @bacupboro for live Twitter feeds from the game.
