‘Fortunes Will Change’ Says Peters

Manager Brent Peters was left to rue the tough start to the season the North West Counties League fixture computer has handed to the Valleys side: “There is no doubt in the first two weeks of the season we could not have had it any tougher: Winsford, Barnoldswick who for the past couple of seasons have finished in the top five and Runcorn Town last seasons runners up. The ironic part is in all of our games we have been more than a match for these teams but sadly not getting the results our performance deserves. In this game we got off to the worst possible start by going a goal down off a set piece in the opening two minutes and then the same happens again following a set piece almost at the conclusion of the game, if we do look vulnerable it is on set pieces something we need to eradicate and quickly. Taking this game in its entirety the first half I would give to Runcorn but it was for me our half after the break, we are just not getting the breaks in front of goal. This is certainly another area we need to address i.e. being more clinical infront of goal when the chances do present themslves”. Peters added” If we were not playing well and not creating chances I would be concerned, however this is not the case, we have been playing well, the main criteria for us is to keep focussed and keep believing, stay positive and from this our fortunes will, I am sure change” Peters will be hoping for a better result on Wednesday evening when AFC Blackpool are the visitors to the Brian Boys West View Stadium for a league fixture, kick-off 7.45 pm.
