League Leaders In Town Tomorrow

Bacup Borough entertain current North West Counties League Premier Division leaders Runcorn Town tomorrow (Saturday) at the Brian Boys West View Stadium, kick-off 3pm. This attractive fixture will prove another stern test for manager Brent Peters and his young charges. Runcorn have won 10, drawn 3 and lost 4 of their 17 games, including a 2-0 victory over Borough back in August at Sandy Lane. In that match the home side hit us with very early and very late goals and so the concentration levels will need to be there throughout tomorrow.

In midweek Runcorn had a superb victory over Warrington Town in the Cheshire Senior Cup, defeating the Evo Stik League outfit 5-0 away from home. Last weekend they had a routine 2-0 home victory over Norton United.

For Bacup new striker Graham McKeown will be in the squad to make his home debut, and there is the possibility of a further new signing in the pipeline. Haydn Paul is likely to be back in contention following his recent illness and so Peters should have a full squad to choose from with the exceptions of long term injury victims Lee Oldham and Artjoms Butorins. Left sided Matthew Bryan is also expected to make his home debut after some impressive away performances.
