Luker To Take Back Seat

Bacup Borough are proud but also somewhat subdued to be announcing that Captain Davey Luker has been given a senior position within his full time employment, subdued by the fact that this promotion will have an immediate affect on his availability for selection.
Bacup Borough Manager Brent Peters explained: “Several weeks ago Davey came to see me to explain there was a chance that he would be offered a senior Management Position, should he be successful unlike previously Football would have to play second fiddle”, Peters continued “Rightly so Davey must think about his future, his family and typical of the lad this is what he is doing, it comes as no surprise that his employers have seen fit to place Davey in a responsible position heading an important team. Davey is a first class lad, a first class leader, Davey was torn when the opportunity did arise but there is no doubt in my mind he at this time of his career must think about his family and his future. Davey will still continue to be club Captain of Bacup Borough Football Club for the foreseeable future, this despite his limited availability”. The announcement of Team Captain and Vice Captain will follow this statement.
In the meantime we all congratulate & wish Davey well in his promotion!
