MANAGER REACTION: ‘Another good day at the office’

Bacup Borough Manager Brent Peters Comments Following Their 4-2 Victory Over Daisy Hill

“ There was good and bad and excellent in this game, to score early is always an excellent time to score, this settles the team down and with this does give us a platform to go out and express ourselves, however the bad was, not once, but twice in quick succession from us taking the lead we concede, we concede down from the same side, with the same defender being involved with both goals, the lad in question is under normal circumstances a good composed defender, but in this game he was has erratic has the bucking bronco we had for my twenty years celebration, Peters added “ his isolated performance for me must not be held against the rest of the team to whom I did think did well, the excellent thing was, the rest of the boys pulled him through and it really could be said actually got him out of the mess that he had got us in, that in itself pleased me has it should what all teams should show, that is the desire to help out their team mates at a time of adversity, this rather than to destroy them into submission where I am left with no other option but to replace the player, I have to say from the boy starting badly he got through it with the help of his team mates to finish quite positively.

Peters went on “ I was pleased for young Kyle Brooks he has patiently waited for his chance to start the game following his past few being on the substitutes bench, he stepped into the role, that of unavailable Darcy O’Connor really well and to cap a very good performance he opened the scoring for us by being bright around the box, he was a big plus, Peters then said “ also I am pleased  by the way Nicholas Alexander has settled into midfield especially with his goal contribution which is two in three, I was also pleased for Micah Evans to whom got himself on the score sheet, his work rate and contribution in other area’s of the pitch was excellent, so to score was the cherry on the top, Whilst it was a good team performance, I must congratulate Anthony Hall, at times these players hear me talk about picking up the baton and running with it, well if ever a player took the game to the opposition, it was Anthony Hall in the second half, the way that he was so positive by driving at players, by committing players, it was so good to see, his performance very much reminded me of Daniel Cocks a former player of mine, We just need Anthony to put this into his game week in and week out, consistency is the key, Anthony was exceptional in the second half, this I hope he can continue with, it is all about confidence and belief, both myself and my Coach Dave Felgate  will be giving him every encouragement to have that confidence and belief, he has got it, we just need to see it consistently, Peters finished by saying “ all things considered, it was another good day at the office, back to back wins and eight goals in two games is great to see “
