MANAGER REACTION: The test now is consistentency

The football produced from us was exceptionally top drawer, when the boys do not over complicate things and we do play the way we have worked on during the close season, then what you saw in this game with Steeton is what you will get in games to come, for ninety minutes I really did enjoy what I saw, not only the quality we produced, I enjoyed seeing the boys enjoying themselves out there on the pitch putting on a show of football moves that was sheer brilliance at times, Peters added “ it all started and helped us to kick on by taking the lead as early has 42 seconds, the way we started all comes down to preparation, to this end I cant credit my Coach Dave Felgate enough, the pre match warm ups are quality, in fact the training is quality, the lads really did hit the ground running, we played at a good tempo, constantly moving the ball and with this utilising the entire area of the pitch, our ball retention was excellent, Matty Dell opened the scoring complimenting an excellent ball from Josh Walne, the fact our keeper tried to imitate the Liverpool keeper Allison’s action in the lunch time TV game, which offered Steeton a life line, this did not in anyway knock us, the boys just credibility got on with it and to be fair to our keeper he also did not let this affect him when just before the break on a couple of occasions he took charge well averting some moments which could have got Steeton back in the game, Peters said “ the previous game we used Anthony Hall more of an impact player, I was always starting the boy in this game, the rest seemed to have a positive impact has most things attacking Anthony was involved in causing our opponents all sorts of problems, he was well complimented by Matty Dell, Michael Gervin, Josh Walne and Davison Banda, backed up by Darcy O’Connor who really did cover every blade of grass, very much instrumental in constantly getting us playing, when ever Steeton tried to get a foothold in the middle of the park, we had Thomas Hendley who exceptionally constantly broke up the play, Peters added “ Steeton are an handful upfront but I was always comfortable knowing I had exceptional defenders in Adrian Bellamy, Laquan Esdaille and Oliver Crew backed up by Lewis Monahon who between them ensured Steeton’s ariel presence was not a threat.

Peters went on “ The football in executing our goals was really special, the quality of the free kick for Adrian Bellamy’s goal was excellent, the weighted pass from Josh Walne for Matty Dells second was perfection, another well taken penalty from Anthony Hall, all goals are good goals, some goals are special goals, then you have goals that are out of this world, Michael Gervin’s execution of our 5th goal was just that- out of this world, to have the vision, the technique, the arrogance to lift the ball with such precision from just inside our opponents half was very much out of this world, the entire team performance has one unit was not far behind, Peters finished by saying “ the test now is consistency and must not be a situation of after the lord mayors show “
