Managers Reaction: Boys Take Points Their Performance Deserved

Following the game, I caught up with the Bacup Manager Brent Peters to whom had this to say “ I am really pleased for the boys, the past seven days they have had three very tough games against good sides with varying different attributes, Peters added “ to face Silsden away followed by Whitchurch Away, then Atherton LR away, lets be fair about this, they don’t come much harder unless you add Litherland Remyca to that list, apart from the first half at Whitchurch we have played well in all of the games, tonight the Boys got the points their performance deserved, Peters went on, “ I have been bringing sides for many seasons now to Crilly Park and never ever is it an easy place to come, far from it, tonight was no exception, Atherton LR worked extremely hard through out the game, in the second half we had to defend the slope with Atherton constantly asking a lot of questions, again credit to my lads, from everyone to a man, they all worked really hard, this was a very good disciplined performance against an Atherton side that themselves were committed and determined and always a threat, Peters went on “ I have for weeks bemoaning the fact that we have been soft centred in the middle of the park, the two lads making their debuts in this game Charles Collinge and Oliver Mclean certainly rectified the soft centred situation well supported by Richard Walker, we now looked like a good, mobile competitive unit in an area In my opinion we have been sadly lacking, Peters went on” they were also aided well by the athleticism of young Ewan Cooper, not only has the boy got good feet, and quick, he is not afraid of putting a foot in if he has to do, this is how he won a good competitive challenge before putting a quality ball through for Matty Bryan to go through onto goal and finishing well making the game safe with a two goal cushion for us, Peters Finished by saying “ I was impressed with what I saw tonight on a difficult pitch against a difficult team, the boys managed the game in its entirety first class and for once got something that their performance deserved “
