Managers Reaction: Not a Great Night Of Football

The Bacup Manager Brent Peters had this to say “ With the game evenly balanced at the break, it is evident to see, the fact we lost our goal keeper proved to be a major factor in this result, this said I must congratulate Holker by the way they were clinical on all of their finishes, equally has we were with the strike by Trey Baldwin Willis and Matthew Bryan, Peters added “ Losing Nick Sharples at this stage of the season what has turned out to be a fractured Chest Bone is just another blow on top of all of the other blows we have encountered, Peters went on “ despite the fact Nick was struggling to breathe and has you can imagine in ridiculous pain, he remarkably carried on until half time, that shows bravery and commitment for the cause which Nick must be applauded for, Peters fumed about the way this injury did manifest itself when he said this “ once again we had possession, once again a midfield player taking far too many touches, once again the same player with no picture of where his next pass is going, gets caught in possession, the opposition break, the keeper has to make a brave attempt at the feet of the advancing player and now he is injured and out for the seasons through bad play on his team mates part” Peters added “ I would rather talk about two boys in defender Oliver Crew and striker Louis Holding both having stepped up from our under eighteen youth set up, for me on this night both boys became men for varying reasons, Oliver replaced Captain Adrian Bellamy to put in a masterful performance that some of the other players need to learn from, nothing spectacular, nothing complicated, the boy did his job of defending and defending masterfully, then there is Louis Holding who is a striker, once our keeper was in trouble the boy impressed all, by the confidence the boy showed in volunteering to take over from our injured keeper, Louis is a confident talented lad which will take him a long way in his football career, I was immensely proud of both boys on the night and without doubt, whilst there was a lot going against us, these two boys were truly the highlight of a disappointing evening for many various reasons “
