MATCH REPORT: Bacup Vs Stockport

**From 7/4/18***

BACUP BOROUGH 5-2 STOCKPORT TOWN

Emphatic Borough put 5 past Stockport

By Matthew Lawson

Despite the recent weather the game between Bacup and Stockport went ahead and the fans that turned up were not disappointed.

From the off Borough were the better side Jarrett and Bryan both coming close to opening the scoring.
Bacup finally took the lead, Matty Bryan converting from the spot just before the half hour mark after Jason Jarrett was brought down by Kyle Haslam in the penalty area.

Nathan Tayo rose highest at the near post to head home from a Rees Welsh free kick to double the lead for Bacup with 5 minutes of the half remaining. Before the break Borough had a third, A well timed ball from Bryan to find his strike partner Jarrett who rounded Haslam in the Town goal and finished with a left footed strike into a empty net.

Brent Peters side started the second half just like they had ended the first, free flowing attacking football, they were unlucky to not have a fourth when Bryan had his left footed shot saved low to the keepers right.

A rare Stockport attack lead to their first goal of the game a hopeful through ball and a defensive mistake following a poor clearance from ‘keeper Karl Price left him stranded as Ruben Abreu lofted a left footed shot into the back of the net.

After failing to press in the middle of the park, the Bacup midfield gave (——) to much time in the ball and he threaded a ball into the path of Trey Simpson who edged in front of Esadille and finished past Price to make it 3-2.

With just 10 minutes left to play, Josh Walne put the game to bed for Bacup, Jason Jarrett with a drilled ball towards the back post was met by a gambling Walne who connected with the ball to turn it home.

Just minutes later Walne got his second of the game and Boroughs fifth, a brilliant header following a cross from skipper Adrian Bellamy.

A much needed win for Bacup, A victory that showed manager Brent Peters that goals can come from anywhere on the pitch and that the goals for Bryan aren’t slowing down.
Borough face a tough test at home on Thursday against league leaders Litherland Remyca
