Mistakes and Wrong Decisions Prove Costly

Manager Brent Peters The Bacup Manager had this to say “ We can talk all we want about having a young side and young players are susceptible to be making mistakes and wrong decisions, but this loss was not down to a our youth, this loss was down to what I call has the more experienced players that have been around the North West Counties League for a long time “ Peters added “ I am shocked that these players I am referring too are so poor when it comes to game management, Peters added “ we are winning 2-0, we are kicking down the slope, it is obvious our opponents would come out for the second half and try to put us to the sword, so why my Right back failed to clip the line and instead checking back to get robbed of the ball, but then my Midfield player covered him but he makes a wrong decision by going back inside forcing the press which from this they score, it is complete madness, then one of my designated markers on the corner fails in his duties, another goal, then they play a ball across the six yard box which I think my keeper should deal with, but when it gets to the far post, I get that it was a miss match in height, so if this is the case you don’t give up and let the guy get a free header, lean into the player whilst making an effort to jump would help, then when their midfield player scored by taking up a position on the blind side of my midfield was the straw that really broke the camels back for me, I had discussed this at half time with my midfield has he was doing it all through the first half, they say fore warned is fore armed, well obviously the two senior players in that area didn’t heed that warning, this they got punished for not being aware. Peters finished by saying “ I cant credit the forwards enough, with this I will include Alex Mellor who was in midfield but supporting, I thought they were all different class, they worked hard, scored three goals, for me any team that score three goals in any game, winning 2-0 at the break, should without doubt win the game, we didn’t, the culprits I am referring to by not Game Managing should take an hard look at themselves, it was sacrilege that we came away from this game with only a memory of such a wonder goal from young Joel “
