Peters’ Comments On Win Over Silsden

Bacup and Rossendale Borough manager Brent Peters had this to say.

“I can honestly say I was far from happy with our first half contribution, Silsden were slick and moved the ball around us with far too much ease for my liking. The goal they scored did come as a result of slack marking from one individual but to be truthful that was typical of everyone throughout the team during the first forty five minutes. The Silsden striker to whom was the size more accustomed to a Basketball player was causing a few problems which very quickly I sorted that problem out by bringing on Jonathon Heap to whom did admirably well.”

Peters added “This was a game from which I could not wait for half time to come and just thankful that we were still in this game by the fact it was only a one goal deficit.”

Peters then said “It goes without saying there were some stern words said at the break and pleasingly from this I was pleased that the lads responded by tightening their individual games up which from this not only brought us three points but two well-made goals.”

Peters added “It was no surprise that Matty Bryan and Daniel Cocks were very much involved in both of the goals.”

Peters finished by saying “The fact that we started the game badly and in this time we do concede, the fact that we showed a lot of character to overcome this deficit to go onto win the game and with this produced two well-made goals did mean the game had an happy ending and a pleasing three points.”
