Peters Fumes at Irresponsible Players Taking Holidays When Season Starts

Manager Brent Peters was left fuming and frustrated after a decent pre-season with the loss of several players due to last minute holidays. This in addition to already the two players that have got suspensions carried over from last season who were Laquan Esdaille and Gareth Wager.

Goalkeeper Lewis Bishop and centre-half Josh Barrick went on holidays last minute whereas defender Uzzy Zubar was injured from the Bridlington game as was forward Mo Hassan and finally striker Shaun Plummer was unavailable due to a wedding. This obviously left a big void in the squad and starting line-up for Saturday’s loss to Glossop North End.

We always knew with the loss of Laquan Esdaille and Gareth Wager the start of the campaign would be tough but this has made it even worse with holidays and clearly had a detrimental effect.

Bacup travel to local rivals Colne tomorrow night as both sides look to get over opening day losses.

Colne lost 2-0 away at Winsford United last Saturday and will be just as desperate as BARB to turn things around which should make an enthralling encounter.

Kick-off is 7:45 tomorrow night at the XLCR Stadium
