Bacup Borough boss Brent Peters will be hoping that his sides spell of inactivity, stretching back to November 24th, will come to an end on Saturday against a side that he used to manage, Glossop North End. With a thaw predicted Borough are hoping that the accompanying rainfall will still allow the Surrey Street ground to be passed fit. It will be the first meeting of the sides this season, as the scheduled home game had to be shelved due to the re-arranged Lancashire Trophy tie at Nelson. Glossop currently lie in 12th place in the league table, some seventeen points behind league leaders Maine Road. Despite this the Surrey Street outfit have put in a promotion application for next season and will be hoping for a strong second half of the season. They have won 8 and drawn 6 of their 20 fixtures and are currently 11 points ahead of Bacup, although we have two games in hand. Their last two league games have seen a 1-1 draw at AFC Blackpool and before that they suffered the fate of being the only side so far this season to lose to Stone Dominoes, going down 3-2 to two late goals.
For Bacup, Peters will have new signings David Grey and Martin Cosgrave available, whilst Gareth Wager has recovered from injury and will also be added to the squad. As usual for those unable to travel to Derbyshire you can follow live tweets from the game on Twitter @bacupborough and @bacupboro.
