Poppies To Back Bacup Borough

Bacup Borough FC are delighted to announce that Poppies Deli-Café in Newchurch Road, Bacup will be the clubs official ‘Promotion Challenge Sponsors’ for the 2012/13 season. Under the arrangement Poppies will cover the costs involved in the clubs promotion application to the Evo Stik League, as well as providing some additional sponsorship. Bacup’s Business Development Executive Dave Edler welcomed the move:

“We would like to extend our thanks to Vanda Killeen and all at Poppies for this excellent gesture. It is a real gamble for clubs at our level to apply for promotion before the end of November in a particular year with less than a third of our fixtures played. We have confidence in our ability to mount a serious challenge despite our current league position but having someone underwrite the costs involved in making our application does take the risk out of it for us. I would add that Poppies food tastes absolutely superb and I would encourage all of our supporters, players, members and followers to pop in and try some”.

Borough boss Brent Peters was also keen to show his appreciation:

“I personally welcome Vanda Killeen from Poppies Deli-Cafe into the Bacup Borough Family. It goes without saying that a Community Football Club such as we are would not be able to progress both on & off the pitch without the help & support of our local business community, we very much appreciate the input from everyone. I would ask that in return we give every help & support we can in giving something back by Popping into Poppies Deli-Cafe, this along with all of our other benefactors that continue to help us along the way, this despite hard economical times”

Vanda Killeen from Poppies said:  “Poppies Deli are delighted to sponsor Bacup Borough FC in their quest for promotion. By having our local team playing at a higher level this will bring bigger crowds and more visitors to the valley, which has to be good for all local businesses. We wish them luck and are with them every step of the way in their endeavours”.
