Managers Reaction: Boys Have Given Me & The Club Everything

Following the Ashton Game I caught up with the Bacup Borough Manager who gave me his views on the past four games within seven days when he had this to say “   This current bunch of players are a special group, for some this has been the highest level they have played at, they want to learn, they are extremely committed, this in a season that in many ways has been very difficult, Peters added” despite the fact we have had adversity, the challenge was Stockport home, Holker away, Widnes home 48hrs later then an away day at Ashton, four challenging games in seven days and these boys have given me and the club everything, Peters went on “ take the trip to Holker which is almost in Barrow in Furness, they drove there, got themselves a creditable point before the drive back from which some lads that live around Glossop did not get home until early hours before being up at 5am for their shift at work, majority played in the game against Widnes forty eight hours later, despite a loss, one goal separated the two sides, if you look at Widnes’s result on Saturday scoring eight against St Helens, then this itself shows how well my boys worked hard against title hopefuls and maybe were unlucky not to have come out of this particular game with a draw.

Peters said “ In terms of long term injuries we have had a season from hell having lost the services of Trippier, Birtles, We lost our keeper Josh Harris at the start of the season, got him back and now a shoulder injury has side lined him again, Anthony Hall and now Trent Simm, these situations have not helped our cause one bit, we are not an healthy financial club, far from it, so replacing good experienced players with little finance is most certainly a difficult task in itself, we have had to work with a lot of players in development, their hard work and willingness to learn is now seemingly paying off, I hope we can build on this form over the final weeks of the season, Peters finished by reserving a special mention for his captain Adrian Bellamy, Peters said “ Adrian has really impressed me since I have handed him the Captains Arm Band, Adrian has picked up the baton and run well with it, he has proved he is a leader in every sense of the word, my First Team Coach Andy Barlow suffered an health scare, from this I did give Adrian even more responsibility, a responsibility the boy has excelled with, leading well on the field as well as off it, Adrian has been a massive plus on all fronts “
