Managers Reaction – Excellent Start.

Following the opening fixture the Bacup Borough Manager Brent Peters had this to say “ I really could not ask for anymore because there was nothing more I could ask for, Entertainment we got and Eccleshall should be complimented for adding to this, We got goals, We got the win, we did not concede, the partnership of Wayne Morrison and Matthew Bryan looked exciting both complimenting each other, Matthew the provider, Wayne the finisher, three assists from Matty, three goals to compliment his quality from Wayne Morrison long may this continue, I felt defensive as a unit we looked solid, Midfield I have a group of excellent players to whom all have various differing attributes, Peters added “ this was the area that did create me the biggest headache pre match, with so many good lads it is finding the right balance to compliment the shape we are playing, Peters added “ Young Ben Rhodes deserved his start ahead of more experienced players, with a 100% attendance at pre- season, he has worked hard, he is young and he is work in progress, getting him not only accustomed to a different position from what he is used to but the physicality of the North West Counties League, replacing Ben at half time was just part of the process within his development, sometimes a player can learn and achieve more by watching with a coach explaining, than when in the middle of the game, this said some of the senior players on the pitch let the boy down and they were told this at the break, from a positive point of view, without doubt Ben will be an important part of the squad this season, Peters went on “ I am fully aware we won three nil and in reality we could easily have doubled that score line, however I am not blind to the fact that some parts of our game was not right from which we are very much going to be work in progress with the issues I did see, but for the opening fixture following an excellent pre-season the lads in their entirety put a big smile on my face , that is what matters the most “
