Managers Reaction: Positive Attacking Football

Following the game I caught up with Bacup Borough Manager to whom had this to say ” If I was frustrated by the lads bad decisions in vital area’s in last weeks game, I am ecstatic this week by the fact they have taken everything told to them on board and with this did produce an excellent show of good, Peters added ” It has been said many times that team shapes don’t win or loose you games, it is players within that team shape that can either make the shape or fail it, well I have to say based upon our last two outings we have the players that are more than cable of making this shape work for us, I also must credit my Coaches Andrew & Ferre to whom have worked hard on the players mentality in getting them drilled into fine tuning in what is required in ensuring the shape we play is very much positive in attack by numbers and equally solid in defence when we loose possession, it is clear from our last two games having only conceded one goal which was from the penalty spot and scoring six goals proves we are going in the right direction, Peters then went onto say ” I watch a lot of Football League and U23 matches Professional players that are being drilled daily, then I watched our boys against Ashton Town, believe me what I witnessed was like watching a well drilled Professional team, it was a Professional performance in a Non League environment, Peters went onto say ” the way everything clicked into place is credit to the players, the athleticism of our two defenders Nathan Emery and Luke Podmore, two players that covered so much ground and quality, they both got their just rewards by both getting on the score sheet, the range of passing and with this making the right decisions in the right areas of the pitch from our midfield players was the catalyst in us having so many chances created in the game, strikers that were busy both in and out of possession and defenders that did just that- defend, together has an entire unit made this performance along with the four well taken goals and not conceding any a Gold Star team performance.
Peters finished by saying ” The boys have set the bar, the challenge is now , can they consistently maintain this level of performance, for working lads it will maybe prove difficult but one thing is a stone wall certainty, we will all be striving for this level of consistency, it just shows, when we make correct decisions, limit our touches, move the ball into the areas we drill into them in training, we do create chances, score goals and win football matches.
