Managers Reaction: Two Excellent Goals

Following the game I spoke to Manager Brent Peters to whom had this to say ” This was a big important win for us given the circumstances of previous results, I was really impressed and pleased by the manner the Boys did galvanise themselves together to see the game through when having gone down to ten men, granted shortly after our sending off, Holker also was reduced to ten men but by the fact they constantly would put the ball onto us, given the size stature of their players compared to our players, there was certainly plenty of miss-matches but credit to all because each and every one of them worked exceptionally hard in ensuring we held onto our twelve minute goal, Peters added ” whilst both of our goals were special in different ways, our opening goal was something my Coach Andrew Barlow had worked with the boys on, so when it comes off it is obviously a goal to savour when you realise the work one has put in has indeed paid off, I am equally has pleased for Johnathan Thompson, the boy has had a tough time of late by the fact all of our chances seemed to have fallen to him but pro ratio of chances created, it has been a zero return, but make no mistake his goal in this game was something special, hopefully now more will follow because the boy certainly can finish has proved tonight. ” Peters finished by saying ” Two excellent goals, at times we have had to defend stoutly, so to keep a clean sheet was really pleasing against a strong side that did test our resolve, to get three important points, to witness a move ending in a finish which has been worked upon at training, and for Johnathan Thompson to put his baron spell of not scoring behind him, to see how hard all of the boys worked to secure the win, means it has been a great night at the office “
